Apex Counseling

Discover a life you desire while experiencing peace and contentment.

At Apex Counseling, we seek to guide and support you through your counseling journey.

Counseling is a process toward understanding yourself and how you operate.

Discovering and identifying values helps develop an integrated worldview.

Learning to live within our values and prioritizing choosing the life we want to live increases harmony and serenity in our day-to-day interactions.

Counseling is a lifelong voyage of continually recovering one’s life and helps enhance the tools utilized by adding diverse coping strategies.

As we trust and listen to ourselves with compassion, we allow wounds to heal and embrace a life of vitality and passion.

Discover a healthier you.

Although we live busy lives, we can live a balanced and embodied life while creating peaceful spaces in our daily life. Even if nothing really “bad” is going on, it is ok to seek support in our lives that we feel we “should” have everything under control. You may be experiencing anxious feelings, lack of sleep, overwhelming or irrational emotional responses, or persistent tiredness when engaging in your daily routine, social activities, or viewing social media and news.

Snow Covered Mountain Under Cloudy Sky

I am here to aid you in your journey to discover how to reclaim peace and contentment in your daily life.

Clients now have the opportunity to receive support via HIPAA-compliant telehealth and in-person counseling sessions. I can select from various empirically researched treatment methodologies during free consultation sessions to offer the best treatment. By supporting clients, they can maintain a peaceful and purposeful lifestyle throughout their lifespan. During sessions, I seek to restore the mind-body connection to allow negative associations to be released through the nervous system, which helps clients gain awareness, alleviate symptom severity, and reduce stress.

“For the world is in a bad state, but everything will become still worse unless each of us does his best”

Viktor Frankl

Austrian Psychiatrist

I incorporate my theoretical orientation by encouraging clients to evaluate how they would like to employ their choices and prioritize their values.

I help clients construct relationships and a worldview that offers peace and compassion for themselves, humanity, and the broken state of the world.

During the intake session, I help clients identify their values, which helps me understand how they view their current reality and the constructs of their worldview. Helping clients’ cognitive representations reflect reality accurately and in accord with values is an essential process within sessions.

I conceptualize psychological concerns as an internal processing distortion that requires the counselor to help distinguish and modify such reasoning. Therefore, Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are action-oriented therapeutic techniques that I use to motivate clients toward the change they desire and overcome obstacles that may arise when pursuing therapeutic goals.

It is a partnership

A Therapeutic Alliance

Reaching out for support can be intimidating; however, investing in yourself is always worth the commitment. As we journey through life, each person can prepare, develop, and change according to reality. As the counselor, I consider myself a guide who highlights exploration, compassion, and curiosity along the voyage of life.

Within sessions, I function from an understanding that humans can increase self-awareness which enhances one’s ability to take ownership of their choices and destiny.

Statement of Theoretical Orientation

I will explore Meaning-Centered Philosophical-Psychological Counseling (MCPPC) as an integrative theoretical creation from a logo-existential perspective.

Philosophical-Psychological Counseling (PPC), a creative integrative orientation that utilizes both philosophical and psychological models as a synthesized hybrid practice, is my preferred conceptual base (Egbekpalu, 2022).

My tactics to follow the plan God has for me can be sifted with a marred cognizance “…it is often the currents beneath the surface of consciousness that have the most power and bring the most troubles in personal adjustment and interpersonal relationships” (McMinn & Campbell, 2017, p. 228).

While maintaining a logo-existential orientation, one must redesign and prioritize values such as living as an embodied individual meant for relationships with others (Tellinghuisen & Moes, 2014).

I incorporate my theological orientation by encouraging clients to evaluate how they would like to employ their choices and prioritize their values.
